Illegal Alien Commended By Federal Judge
Rosemary Jenks recounts a recent experience in federal court in which an illegal alien, before the judge for being in the country illegally, is sentenced to “time served” (four months) and released, even after he admits that he just wants to get back to working (illegally) to support his family in El Salvador.
Even worse, the judge commended the lawbreaker for his crime as the judge sentenced him:
The judge explained the charges against the illegal alien and asked if he understood that he could face a lengthy prison term if he pled guilty. He said he understood. Then the judge asked if he had anything he wanted to say. Since the illegal alien spoke no English, his attorney explained that he had only come here to earn money to send home to his wife and children in El Salvador and he was pleading guilty in the hopes of being released quickly from detention so he could go back to providing for his family.

Michelle Malkin: White House Preparing to Gut E-Verify
Just part of the Obama plan to destroy the United States’ preeminence in this world… “take the locks off the doors” and let everybody in to take your stuff:
Buzz on the Hill is that Team Obama will repeal some of the Executive Orders from the Bush Administration dealing with E-verify and so-called “No Match” Social Security number notices.

Money Sent Back to Mexico Falls by 18%
Next month, Mexico applies for bailout money…. (Just joking… I think.)
April remittances fell to $1.78 billion from $2.19 billion, according to the bank. It said the U.S. recession has hurt migrants in the United States, while fewer Mexicans are heading north because of a lack of jobs and a crackdown on illegal immigration.

Nothing Mexican On Cinco de Mayo
[This article was originally published on 5/1/06. It garnered national attention for this site after it was read on air by WSB Radio talk show host Neal Boortz. I was subsequently interviewed by dozens of newspapers and web sites from across the nation and appeared on the Fox News' "Fox & Friends" Sunday morning show. This is a slightly revised republication of the 2006 article.]
I am becoming more nationalistic by the day.
I have always believed that I live in the greatest country in history, and I am unapologetic for the blessings that God, a pioneer spirit and a favorable climate have bestowed upon us. But, day by day, I become more aware of the forces, from within and without, that want to destroy my homeland or, at the very least, abuse its resources. And I am growing angry.
For example, I have finally reached the boiling point on illegal immigration. We are a nation of laws, including those that control how visitors can enter this country, how long they can stay and how they can become permanent citizens. I expect those visitors to obey the same laws that citizens are expected to follow; and I expect my government to enforce the law when those visitors choose to ignore it. Read more…

Barnett Wins, MALDEF and Invaders Lose
A federal jury in Tucson has rejected nearly all of the substantive claims brought by illegal alien advocacy group Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) against Arizona rancher Roger Barnett. Earlier, on February 10, federal district judge John M. Roll threw out related conspiracy complaints against his wife Barbara and his brother Donald Barnett, and dismissed the claims brought by ten illegal aliens who did not testify in court.
The Barnetts, who operate the Cross Rail Ranch near the Mexican border, were alleged to have violated the civil rights of 20 illegal aliens whom they detained as the illegal entrants crossed their property in 2004.
When dismissing the conspiracy claims, the court explained that illegal aliens have no constitutionally protected right to travel in the U.S. and that people, like the Barnetts, who live in close proximity to the border can make a reasonable assumption that large groups of people they encounter hiding or trespassing are doing so with the aid of smugglers, a federal felony for which a citizens arrest is authorized under Arizona law.

Gangs Behind Up to 80% of U.S. Crime
According to Jon Feere of the Center for Immigration Studies, their report, “Taking Back the Streets: ICE and Local Law Enforcement Target Immigrant Gangs,” concludes that “the growth of gang activity is directly related to the growth of illegal immigration. In fact, the most rapidly-expanding gangs are primarily immigrant-based. Up to 90 percent of some gang membership is illegal alien.”
Feere continues, “Many gangs are already playing pivotal roles alongside drug cartels, in some cases acting as frontline offense as they make their way into the United States. The bottom line is that the United States cannot stop the spread of dangerous gangs into our neighborhoods without addressing immigration. More enforcement and state/local cooperation with federal agencies is imperative. Conversely, anything that amounts to an “amnesty” would only benefit the gangs and facilitate more crime.
From USAToday:
Criminal gangs in the USA have swelled to an estimated 1 million members responsible for up to 80% of crimes in communities across the nation, according to a gang threat assessment compiled by federal officials.
