Sixteen Illegals Sue Arizona Rancher

This case has gone to trial after a federal judge dismissed Roger Barnett’s motion to dismiss, ruling that there was sufficient evidence to proceed. Barnett, a former sheriff’s deputy, has turned over to the Border Patrol 12,000 illegal immigrants that he has apprehended crossing his 22,000-acre ranch since 1998.

The defense of its citizenry is one of the foundational purposes of a federal government. If the U.S. courts will not protect an American citizen on his own land, this country is in dire straits.

An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border.
