`O, Say Do You See…`

My nine-year-old stepdaughter is a very…. er, verbose child. When her verbosity exceeds the boundaries of her life experience and wisdom, she can be counted on to say some of the funniest things. We call her slip-ups “Macayla-isms.”

Today’s “Macayla-ism”:

On the way to school this morning, the girls were discussing the boredom associated with the bus ride home in the afternoon. Macayla’s 12-year-old sister, Katie, offered that yesterday’s ride was boring because her friend and seatmate was absent.

Macayla replied, “Yeah, I sit with a boy named `Sadu.`”

“Say-doo?” repeated Katie.

“Yeah, you know,” answered Macayla, “O-oh, SAY DO you see… by the dawn’s early light….”
