I am a court reporter who has worked in Gwinnett County and am now working in Fulton County. All I see are the repercussions and fallout from the choices of the illegal immigrants in this state. A stolen car at Lenox Square, stopped by the police, with a car full of drugs and assault weapons. Nothing happened to them. They were put in jail until INS came for them to deport them, which that never happened. Eventually they were let out and told to leave this state, except for one county, Ware County. Who checks to see that that happens????? Also Gwinnett County provided a whole new vocabulary for my computer, all gang related.

It occurs to me that no one is saying ‘yes’ to America more than people risking their lives to join us here. Maybe you should change the name to “Just Say ‘No’ to America.”

For that reason, you shouldn't simply parrot what you've heard; you should take the time to think before you speak. "First, even the original "native American Indians" were immigrants; they didn't magically appear here. Nonetheless, the "original" native Americans are now dead; their children are "native Americans" not because their ancestors happened to live here before white folk but because they were born here. Just like I was born here. I am no less "American" or "native" than anybody else who was born here to parents with citizenship or legal residency. That's over 280 million "native Americans" at present. "As to my ancestors, Amparo, we've got a problem... I have both "white guy" and "Indian" in my blood. What are we to do about that?"

In addition to protesting, I think we all need to be actively supporting legislation aimed at allieviating the very massive “illegal immigration” onslaught of which we complain! For example, Rep. Nathan Deal of Ga. has a bill before Congress which would prohibit babies born in the U.S. to illegal aliens (as in your poll) from becoming U.S. citizens. Georgia has already “struck a great blow” for reform with the passage of your landmark SB-529. Now, while the sentiment of the U.S. public is “on this side”, let’s “go national” in strong support of other legislation– such as that proposed by Rep. Deal, and other such “anti-illegal immigration legislation” already introduced into our Congress–and work together actively to “take our country back” the legal way!
