Your are focusing on the wrong group of people. The owners of these restaurants have not done anything wrong. They are legal US citizens, and a lot of them are not even Hispanic. Any political person involved in this will absolutely NOT get my vote in the next election!

To the issue of “On the Border” in particular, the restaurant is one of several chains owned by Brinker International. Brinker celebrates its promotion of diversity within its employee ranks ( http://www.brinker.com/company/diversity.asp ) and its involvement in the local community. Part of that involvement includes financial support of the National Council of La Raza ( http://www.nclr.org ). The NCLR
 
1. opposes the securing of our southern border;
2. opposes giving local law enforcement the authority to enforce immigration laws;
3. opposes laws that require applicants for drivers’ licenses to prove that they are legal residents;
4. supports the legalization of all aliens currently in the U.S. illegally;
5. opposes laws to facilitate deportation of criminals from other countries;
6. opposes the prosecution of illegals who use forged documents or your Social Security number;
7. favors laws to make in-state tuition rates, state and federal grants and loans, and private scholarships available to illegals currently in our high schools.
 
I could go on and on. The bottom line is I have no problem with Brinker International being associated with the rally or my call for “Nothing ‘Mexican’ On Cinco de Mayo.”  Even though Brinker International is a U.S.-based company, it is not true that Brinker has “nothing to do with” the illegal immigration issue.

In addition to protesting, I think we all need to be actively supporting legislation aimed at allieviating the very massive “illegal immigration” onslaught of which we complain! For example, Rep. Nathan Deal of Ga. has a bill before Congress which would prohibit babies born in the U.S. to illegal aliens (as in your poll) from becoming U.S. citizens. Georgia has already “struck a great blow” for reform with the passage of your landmark SB-529. Now, while the sentiment of the U.S. public is “on this side”, let’s “go national” in strong support of other legislation– such as that proposed by Rep. Deal, and other such “anti-illegal immigration legislation” already introduced into our Congress–and work together actively to “take our country back” the legal way!

It occurs to me that no one is saying ‘yes’ to America more than people risking their lives to join us here. Maybe you should change the name to “Just Say ‘No’ to America.”
