If you haven’t heard the story, a Kennesaw State University student—an illegal alien—was stopped on campus for a traffic infraction. Her immigration status was discovered and she was dutifully turned over to immigration officials for deportation.
After an aggressive campaign by school administrators and taxpayer-funded lawyers, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement has deferred her deportation for a year. Jessica Colotl is now back in class at KSU, a publicly funded institution:
It probably comes as a surprise to most readers to learn that Georgia colleges and universities allow those in this country illegally to register as students, but it is the truth. As we are learning, our campuses are "sanctuaries" of a sort, where certain laws that apply elsewhere no longer apply.
