Global Warming in Last 15 Years Insignificant, U.K.’s Top Climate Scientist Admits
Even if, despite the recent scandals involving top “global warming experts,” you still believe that the phenomena exists, is the change worth spending billions of your tax dollars and giving up some of the freedoms that you now enjoy?
The embattled ex-head of the research center at the heart of the Climate-gate scandal dropped a bombshell over the weekend, admitting in an interview with the BBC that there has been no global warming over the past 15 years.

She Was Never About Those Huddled Masses
Check out this article by Roberto Suro, a professor at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication. He argues that the Statue of Liberty was never intended to represent a homing beacon to direct the poor and downtrodden to our shores. Here’s an excerpt; click the link below.
While Lady Liberty has stood immobile in New York Harbor, immigration has risen and fallen and risen again. Lazarus — and Reagan, even more so — dreamed that the unchanging values she symbolizes give us an innate talent for being a nation of immigrants. Wrong then and wrong now. Like Americans of every era, we’ll be held to account for how we manage the door and for what happens to immigrants and their offspring when they live among us.

Sixteen Illegals Sue Arizona Rancher
This case has gone to trial after a federal judge dismissed Roger Barnett’s motion to dismiss, ruling that there was sufficient evidence to proceed. Barnett, a former sheriff’s deputy, has turned over to the Border Patrol 12,000 illegal immigrants that he has apprehended crossing his 22,000-acre ranch since 1998.
The defense of its citizenry is one of the foundational purposes of a federal government. If the U.S. courts will not protect an American citizen on his own land, this country is in dire straits.
An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Liberal Defenders of Free Enterprise, Smaller Government
I am not a political party kinda guy. I am more of a “black or white,” “right or wrong,” conservative or liberal,” “going to heaven or going to hell” kinda guy. But it still chapped my rear end to see a liberal, former Democrat Georgia Governor Roy Barnes, battling the “Republican” County Commission over its takeover of the sanitation industry.
In a day when what flows from politicians’ mouths is more “sounding brass and tinkling cymbal” (that’s “Bible-talk” for BS) than principle and conviction, it’s nice to have a Democrat lawyer around to set things right.
You say that Barnes is just doing it for the money? Hey, that’s “free enterprise,” baby!
Gwinnett County erred in granting two nonprofits the authority to regulate solid-waste collection and police powers to enforce the county’s solid-waste ordinance, the attorney for two trash haulers argued in court Wednesday.
Attorney Roy Barnes, representing plaintiffs Southern Sanitation and Sanitation Solutions, painted the arrangement as a private corporation being endowed with powers the county has abdicated.

If the ends truly justifies the means…
Like a federal bailout, the county’s plan to eliminate competition and take over what has been a private enterprise simply ignores the Constitution and the rule of law, in favor of expedience. The new sanitation plan is, by all definitions a step toward socialism, which is an economic system in which the basic means of production are primarily owned and controlled collectively, usually by government under some system.
If private ownership, entrepreneurship and free enterprise are no longer cherished characteristics of our country to be jealously guarded and defended at all costs, then any form of government interference is plausible.
